Track: the door's rails. Vertical and horizontal track guide every cycle. Track fails by bending (a bump from a bumper or ladder), by brackets loosening out of the framing, or by simple wear where decades of steel rollers have ground the curve thin. Shallow bends get straightened and re-anchored. Kinked, crimped, rusted, or worn-thin track gets replaced, because damaged track eats rollers, strains the opener, and eventually derails the door. If your door has already jumped the track, that is an off-track call and we handle it same-day.
Struts: the backbone of wide doors. A strut is a horizontal steel brace across the inside of a door section. Double-car doors flex every cycle, and the top section takes the opener's whole pull. Too little strut and the door bows, slaps, or oil-cans, then hinges loosen and panels crack. Adding or upgrading a strut is one of the cheapest ways to extend a door's life, and it is standard practice on wind-prone and wider openings.
Hinges, brackets, drums, and fixtures. Hinges crack at the knuckle and elongate their screw holes. End brackets and bottom fixtures, which are under cable tension and genuinely dangerous to remove untrained, rust and fatigue. Cable drums groove and wobble. Each is a small part, but any one of them failing puts the load somewhere it does not belong. We replace them matched to the door's gauge and lift, and we check the neighbors of every failed part, because hardware rarely wears alone.
Opener wear parts. Openers fail in predictable places: the nylon drive gear strips (the classic hum-but-no-movement), sprockets wear, trolleys crack, logic boards and capacitors give out, and remotes and keypads die or get lost. We stock the common parts for the LiftMaster, Chamberlain, and Genie units that dominate Atlanta garages, and when a repair no longer makes sense against the age of the unit, we say so straight and quote a replacement instead.
Why we install rather than hand you parts. Two reasons. Safety: several hardware points, bottom fixtures, cable drums, and anything near the springs, are under live tension and injure people every year. Fit: hardware is sized to door weight, gauge, and lift type, and the wrong part wears the rest of the system. One visit with the right part, installed and warrantied, almost always beats two trips to a parts counter and an afternoon of risk.
