Our story
Started in Douglasville. Still answering the phone in Douglasville.
Metro Garage Doors opened in 1979 as a family operation working out of West Atlanta. Forty-seven years later, the family is still running it — same shop, same Veterans Memorial Highway address, same standard for how a service call should go.
Atlanta has changed a lot since 1979. Suburbs got bigger. Out-of-state private equity bought up most of the trades. National brands started buying Google ads in our zip codes and routing the calls to subcontractors who'd never set foot in Cobb or Paulding County.
We didn't change. When you call Metro, a Metro tech answers. When the truck pulls up, it has our oval logo on the side and a real Metro employee inside it — not a 1099 lead-pass, not a partner network referral, not a "preferred contractor" we've never met. That's the difference, and after almost five decades it's the only thing we know how to do.
In 2012 we briefly expanded into insulation, fireplaces, and gates after a merger with L&W. Those services have since been retired — we focus on what we're best at: garage doors. Residential and commercial. Repair and new install. Every Atlanta neighborhood we can drive to.
