Same-day garage door opener service across the Atlanta metro.

Opener buzzing but the door won't move? Sensors blinking? Remote dead? Most opener problems are diagnosed and fixed in a single visit. We service every major brand — LiftMaster, Genie, Chamberlain, Marantec, Sommer — and install LiftMaster ProVantage smart openers. A Metro tech in a Metro truck — never subcontracted, family-owned since 1979.

Upfront pricing

Every opener repair or install priced in writing before we start. No surprises and no fine print — the number on your estimate is the number on your invoice.

Same-day service

Phones answered 24/7. Trucks stocked with LiftMaster, Genie, Chamberlain, and Marantec parts. Most opener repairs done in a single visit.

Lifetime workmanship

The Metro Promise: every opener job backed by lifetime workmanship and our 90-day make-it-right guarantee.

How a Metro Opener Visit Works

Four steps. One visit.

No phone-tag, no callbacks the next day, no "we'll have to order the part." Most opener jobs are fully diagnosed, quoted, and finished in a single visit.

1

Diagnose

On-site inspection by a real Metro tech. Motor, drive, sensors, logic board, remotes, wall switch — we test the whole opener and explain what's actually wrong.

2

Quote

Repair vs. replace, both quoted in writing when it's a close call. The number on your estimate is the number on your invoice — no surprises.

3

Install or Repair

Same-day work using OEM parts. Trucks carry LiftMaster, Genie, Chamberlain, and Marantec parts plus full LiftMaster ProVantage units for replacement.

4

Guarantee

Lifetime workmanship coverage plus a 90-day make-it-right guarantee. The Metro Promise — in writing.

Pricing You Can Trust

Every job quoted in writing.

Opener pricing depends on brand, horsepower, drive type (chain, belt, direct), and whether smart features are included — so we don't publish flat rates. What we do guarantee: an upfront written number before any work starts, the same hourly rate every day of the week, and a job that's backed for life.

Quoted in writing

Every opener job priced before we start, in writing. The number on your estimate is the number on your invoice — no add-ons after the fact.

Same rate, every day

Other companies bill double on Sundays and holidays. We don't. Same hourly rate at 8 AM Tuesday or 7 PM Saturday — including same-day emergency calls.

Backed for life

Every opener install and repair is covered by The Metro Promise — lifetime workmanship plus a 90-day make-it-right guarantee. If our work fails, we come back at no charge.

What you see is what you pay — same price every day, backed for life.

When to Call Metro

Three signals your opener needs a real tech.

If any of these sound familiar, the opener is telling you something. Most are same-day fixes — and ignoring them usually turns a small repair into a full replacement.

"Motor runs but the door doesn't move."
Likely a stripped trolley gear or disengaged carriage

The motor turns but the drive can't grip the door. Could be the red emergency cord pulled (easy fix), a stripped main drive gear inside the opener (30–45 minute swap), or a broken belt or chain. We carry parts for all common LiftMaster, Genie, and Chamberlain models.

"Door reverses or won't close all the way."
Likely a safety sensor or close-force issue

The two photo-eye sensors near the floor have to "see" each other for the door to close. Knocked out of alignment, dirty lens, sun glare, or spider webs all trigger the auto-reverse. If the sensors check out, it's the close-force setting on the opener. Both are 5-minute fixes once we're on site.

"Remote doesn't work but the wall switch does."
Likely a logic board, dead battery, or interference

If the wall button works the motor's fine. The radio receiver in the logic board, a dead 3V battery in the remote, or new RF noise from a smart-home device or LED bulb is the usual culprit. We reprogram remotes, swap logic boards, and add an external receiver if needed.

What Atlanta Says

Opener reviews from verified Metro customers.

★★★★★

"Opener stopped working three days into a heat wave. Metro had a tech here in two hours, replaced the logic board, reprogrammed both remotes, done before lunch."

★★★★★

"Old chain-drive opener was a nightmare to listen to from the bedroom above the garage. Metro installed a quiet LiftMaster belt drive, walked me through the myQ app, hauled the old one away. Worth every dollar."

★★★★★

"Door wouldn't close at night and the sensor lights kept blinking. Metro figured out it was a spider web on the lens within five minutes, cleaned it, didn't charge me. Honest shop."

Opener FAQ

Opener questions before you call.

Don't see your question? Call us — we love nerding out on openers.

How long should a garage door opener last?
A residential opener typically lasts 10–15 years for chain and belt drives, sometimes longer for premium DC-motor models. Lifespan depends on cycle count, exposure to heat and humidity, and whether the door itself is properly balanced. If yours is over a decade old and starting to fail, replacement usually pays for itself in reliability and quieter operation.
Can you install a smart opener that works with my phone?
Yes. We install LiftMaster myQ, Genie Aladdin Connect, and Chamberlain smart openers — all controllable from a phone, plus geofencing, scheduled close, and Amazon Key compatibility. Existing chain-drive openers can usually be upgraded with a smart hub instead of full replacement, which we'll quote both ways.
What's wrong if my opener motor runs but the door doesn't move?
Three common causes. The trolley or carriage is disengaged from the door — pull the red emergency cord and reattach. The drive gear inside the opener is stripped — replaceable in 30–45 minutes. Or the chain or belt has broken or come off the sprocket — also a same-day fix. We carry parts for the most common LiftMaster, Genie, and Chamberlain models in every truck.
Should I repair or replace my old opener?
If it's under 8 years old and the failure is a single component (logic board, gear, sensor), repair almost always wins. Past 10 years with recurring failures, the math shifts — modern openers are quieter, safer, and can pay for themselves in avoided service calls. We quote both options in writing so you can pick.
Why does my door reverse before fully closing?
Almost always one of three things: the safety sensors are misaligned (one is pointing at the wall instead of its partner), the lens is dirty or covered with a spider web, or the close-force setting on the opener is too tight. We diagnose and fix all three on the same visit. Don't disable the sensors — they're federally required since 1993.
Do you install battery backup openers?
Yes. Battery backup is required by law in California, and we recommend it for every Atlanta install — Georgia loses power often enough that getting locked out of your garage during a storm matters. LiftMaster's ProVantage line includes battery backup as standard on most models.
Can you install just the opener if I bring my own?
Yes. We offer professional installation on customer-supplied openers. Labor rate is the same as a full install, and we still warranty our workmanship — but the opener warranty falls back on the manufacturer rather than us, since we didn't sell the unit. We'll inspect what you bought and let you know if it'll fit your door.
Are LiftMaster openers worth the premium?
For most homeowners, yes. LiftMaster's ProVantage line carries a lifetime motor warranty when professionally installed by a ProVantage Dealer (which we are), DC motors run notably quieter than older AC chain drives, and the myQ smart features actually work reliably. Genie and Chamberlain are solid alternatives at a lower entry price — we install both.
